TEP (Transitional Employment Program)
The TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM is designed to expose your client to the demands of competitive employment, in a closely supervised clerical setting, while gaining PAID work experience. Our TEP program is situated at a major workers compensation insurance company.
Some of the advantages TEP offers your client:
Opportunity to develop competitive work habits
Gain current work experience for presentation on resume
Build self-esteem and self-confidence
Address behaviors that may interfere with productive employment
There are three TEP worksites:
TEP I: Within the Insurances Services department, the TEP I team is responsible for keying data from forms and other business documents into the computer system.
TEP II: Within the Credit and Collections department, the TEP II team processes a high-volume of incoming mail.
TEP III: A pool of previous TEP I and TEP II participants, TEP III provides clerical assistance to various company departments; job duties and lengths of assignments vary.
Due to the processing of personal and company checks, all TEP participants must first pass a background check.
Enrollment in TEP is contingent upon performance on a month-to-month basis for up to nine months. Your client earns $7.35 per hour and attends a weekly job seeking skills class in preparation for their job search following TEP training.
